The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are also known also as the Global Goals and Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Spearheaded by the UN the goals were adopted on September 25th 2015 to ‘end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all.’
They are a set of 17 goals and 169 targets to be achieved over the next 15 years which cover different sustainable development issues. These goals are the successor to the Millennium Development Goals and cover a much broader range of issues.
The goals are now shaping policy agendas in the government and development projects and because of this, Skilled Impact highlights the goals that each of our partners are working towards on each placement page.
